Changelog
What changed for the people who use Ablehand: the teams who install it and the
users who type into it. Widget releases are immutable; the nav.0.x.js channel
always serves the newest 0.x release.
October 7, 2026
- Several domains per site. One site key now covers an app, its staging origin, its docs, and wildcard subdomains. A goal that moves between them keeps going; linked jumps across registered domains are allowed. (Widget 0.4.25)
- Console. Sign-in and onboarding screens restyled to match the console; guardrail gates are switches; the top unmet need is shown as a ring; usage charts render without JavaScript.
October 4, 2026
- Closing lines are grounded. When a goal finishes, the bar says what happened in one sentence that quotes the page, or says plainly that the answer isn't on this site. A goal that typed or chose something is reported as an action, not a question. (Widget 0.4.22 to 0.4.24)
- Fewer dead ends. Links to the page the user is already on are no longer offered; a step that is skipped twice is treated as a stall and the bar asks instead of looping.
- "Do the rest for me" appears on every guided step when the site allows Do mode, and a question asked after a guided step gets an answer box. (Widget 0.4.20, 0.4.21)
October 3, 2026
- Guide mode on popup-heavy stores. Learnings from a live tour of a storefront: a dialog that opens during the first look is preferred over the earlier fuller view; a guided click that loads a new page keeps the goal. (Widget 0.4.16 to 0.4.18)
- Users can switch who performs the steps mid-goal, when the site allows it. (Widget 0.4.19)
- Onboarding. The first live tag request marks the site as installed; the wizard explains why finishing failed if it did.
October 2, 2026
- Hand-offs. When a step leads somewhere the widget doesn't run (a payment provider, an external login), the goal ends as handed off and says so, rather than spinning. (Widget 0.4.12 to 0.4.15)
- Nothing done inside the widget reaches the host page. Clicks and key presses in the bar no longer close a store's quick-buy drawer or menu. (Widget 0.4.13)
- Steadier first look. The widget waits for the set of controls to settle, not for images, so goals start sooner on heavy pages. Per-step timing is recorded for every goal. (Widget 0.4.8 to 0.4.11)
- Decision logic scoped to the goal, not the page. A page's only
requiredfield, its first dialog, or its newsletter box is no longer taken as evidence of what the user meant. The model decides which field, if any, the goal needs; arequiredattribute alone never triggers a question. Fixtures added for pages with unrelated forms and for non-English pages. - Loop detection compares page state, not labels, so "add three of these" is not mistaken for a loop.
October 1, 2026
- Themes and design tokens. Light, dark, or auto; brand color, position, pill text, shortcut, and type tokens set once per site in the console and overridable per page. Live switching from the host app. (Widget 0.4.0)
- Release channel.
nav.0.x.jsfollows the newest 0.x release, so fixes reach every site within minutes. Pinning a version with an integrity hash is opt-in. - Console: exports. Goals and Usage export as CSV and JSON.
- Self-serve sign-in for the console, with organizations.
September 30, 2026
- Insights. Every goal is classified at ingest; unmet needs are grouped by intent with the reason they failed and the first fix to try; themes are discovered overnight for you to accept or dismiss; a weekly digest goes out by email on Mondays. (Widget 0.3.0)
September 29, 2026
- The command bar. The widget is a command bar with a progress line, not a chat window. Starter chips, "Your turn" when it's waiting on the user, clearer confirmations. (Widget 0.2.0)
- Page jumps stay on the current origin. (Widget 0.2.1)
- Resilience. Retries on transient database failures; a failed store initialization is retried rather than cached.
September 28, 2026
- Ablehand. The product is named and lives at ablehand.ai.
- Versioned widget delivery with immutable releases and integrity hashes.
- Durable storage. Tenant configuration, catalog, traces, outcomes, and usage move to Postgres.
- Retention policy per site with a daily cleanup job.
- Trust and security documentation published.
September 22, 2026
- Guide mode: highlight and narrate; the user performs each step.
- Operator hints, per-site guardrails, redaction policy over an always-on floor, rate limits and quotas, graceful degrade when the model is unreachable.
- Outcome-verified execution: every action is checked for its expected effect; stale actions are deferred when a dialog appears mid-decision; actions whose effect is already present are skipped.
September 21, 2026
- First working build: widget, edge, demo workspace, evaluation harness, confirmation gate for irreversible actions, registered-origin lock, site catalog and page suggestions.
